Sliderman
The Sliderman Trail starts at the Fleschen mountain station and follows the lift line in the direction of Bellwald. With the conversion of this former “blue trail”, we were able to develop an offer for the Bike Park Bellwald that will appeal to all those who like to collect air miles. It turns and flies – peppered with lots of jumps, rock gardens, hips, shark fins and berms. After every run we create new nicknames such as Shark Attack or Finland! It’s just so much fun to be had.
The challenge of conversion
Converting an existing trail with a more or less predetermined gradient and line poses some major challenges. We spent countless hours discussing various options during construction. We rebuilt and optimized the jumps in particular until everything was just right. Jumps in particular require a very experienced eye and several test runs to ensure that the speed is right in the end, the jumps are safe and everything is coherent.
Every day I racked my brains as to how best to manage the speed on this trail. It is quite steep in some places. That’s why we tried to control the speed by changing direction and rhythm. The result knocks my hat off every time I ride it. It does have some tricky sections, but if you manage to ride them cleanly and then just let it fly, it’s an unreal feeling!
First test runs
Team Project with Myles Weber, Basil Weber and Lutz Weber had a lot of fun on the freshly shaped first section! Hop aboard with them in their GoPro Run.
Right from the first test ride, everything went as smooth as a nut: left, right, up and down, jumps in all dimensions – for me as a local, it was a dream come true! Everything is predictable from the very first meter and it instantly feels like you can trust the trail 100 percent.
